Flirting with The Moon by Andy McD

Twenty five years after the death of Jacky Sanchez, a former detective of the LAPD, her former partner, Joe Dean, stumbles on some new information about her murderer.

Joe and Jacky were investigating a series of murders commited by a serial killer when she became one of his victims. Joe had a breakdown and left the police force. Years later while working as a private detective, Joe stumbled upon the serial killer’s personal memoir. He contacted the publisher and found out that the killer’s only contact information was a postal box in the small town of Candle Stick Bay, Queensland, halfway across the world in Australia.

Going to Australia was a foregone conclusion for Joe. He had to solve this case to finally put an end to that chapter of his life. Once he got confirmation that the LAPD wouldn’t be reopening the case, he packed his bags and left for Australia.

Flirting with The Moon is a mystery thriller about a sadistic killer. He is retired and supposedly living a quiet life in a small town. Flashing him out won’t be easy. The town’s people are suspicious and news of Joe’s investigation has spread like wildfire. How will Joe catch this killer when he’s lost the element of surprise?

This is an excellent work of fiction by Andy McD. He is knowledgeable about the subject of law enforcement and it comes across in his writing. I recommend this to all thriller and mystery lovers.
